    Indications for Hospitalization Include:

    1. (1) History of severe withdrawal symptoms including seizures and DT’s.

    (2) Multiple past withdrawal treatments.

    1. (3) High levels of alcohol intake.

    (4) Presence of current medical or psychiatric illness including pancreatitis, GI bleeding, cirrhosis, other medical complications and major psychiatric symptoms like depression, psychosis or suicidal or homicidal behavior.

    1. (5) Pregnancy.

    (6) Lack of a reliable social support, adverse family and job situations and inability to travel to clinic.
